Wohoo for American Made Products! If you don't know, which you probably do, Colourpop is a LA based company that specializes in cream products, The recently collaborated with CoffeebreakwithDani and KathleenLights on a shadow quad. So naturally, I wanted to pick it up. When I finally decided to take the plunge, I also bought 3 of the new liquid lipstick and I thought I would share my thoughts on it. Here we go!

Overall, I really love this quad for the summer. I think it was well developed. The colors are very pigmented and wearable. I think the matte shades, Glow and Cornealous, were a good choice to offset the quite metallic colors of Blaze and Kathleen Lights. If you love warm shadows, this quad will be great for you as each shade has a warm undertone. If you like cool shadows, you may want to consider the next quad. This quad was $20 by the way which, in my opinion, is not bad for the amount of product and possibilities that come with these shades.

When I first got the quads, I thought Strength and Cornelious were the same shade and I thought "wow that's cheap" but, they are different. Strength is a satin finish and Cornelious is a matte finish. As you can see, Strength in the top of the picture has sheen to it and reflects the light and Cornelious is matte and does not reflect light.

This quad is interesting. The concept is that Hope and Kindness are transformer shades. They can take an eyeshadow base and make it look great by a layering affect. Does it work? Not as well as I would like. I think they need to be less pigmented, especially Kindness. I see hope as a transforming shadow as you can still see the color of the base whether it is purple, pink, white, etc. However, with kindness, it is too pigmented with the brown undertone to really transform a shadow. It really just overlaps it. If you have a dark base, like a black, dark brown or royal purple, it will show up more. But, if you look closely above at the picture where it overlaps strength, you really can't tell the strength is the base. I still think this quad is worth the money. If you don't have the duo chrome brown-blue shadow, it would be a nice investment to add to your makeup collection.
The Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips are quite pigmented. The only problem I encountered was that you can't layer them and you have one shot to get it right. If you don't get it right, your best option is to remove and reapply. I have heard that many of the deeper and darker shades are hard to apply evenly. I, personally, haven't had problems with evenness just, being able to be as exact as need. These have a doefoot applicator which, makes it easier to apply in the corners of the mouth. I haven't noticed too much drying on my lips and they feel pretty comfortable. For $6, they are pretty good and worth getting. However, if you have the money, the Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks are easier to apply and dry slower which allows for even and layered application. FIY: definitely moisturize your lips before using. They dried mine out pretty bad after wearing them for a few days.
